"Ferne" is the debut album of iranian kamancheh virtuoso Misagh Joolaee. This work includes 11 pieces for kamancheh, which have been composed by him during the last 10 years. The rhythmical pieces are delightfully accompanied  by acclaimed percussionist Sebastian Flaig on various instruments such as darbuka, udu, cajon and so on.  Joolaee presents in this album a different way of kamancheh playing, which includes some new bow and pizzicato techniques developed by himself.
These compositions are inspired by turkish anatolian and spanish flamenco music, among other musical styles. However the root of the musical language lies in Misagh´s country of origin, Iran, where he was born, grew up, began to think, speak, and ultimately learned to love music, in the distance." Sebastian Flaig, well known German percussion player, focussing on oriental rhythms is the perfect companion on this masterwork.
